ARSENAL'S GOAL KEEPER

1. Manuel Almunia

Manuel was plucked from the football backwaters of Spain to join Arsenal in 2005 and eventually overtook Jens Lehmann as No 1 two years later.
Renowned for his reflexes, the Spaniard is something of a specialist from spot-kicks.
His long list of vital penalty saves include one from Tottenham’s Robbie Keane in his first full season as first-choice, a stop which really endeared him to the fans. Manuel performed similar heroics in a Champions League tie at Roma in 2009 and against West Ham in the Premier League last season.
Manuel is closing on 200 games for the Club and, as one of Arsène Wenger’s most intelligent, experienced heads, he has been entrusted with the captaincy on a number of occasions.
Manuel Almunia is a 'non-homegrown' player in Arsenal's official Premier League squad.

21. Lukasz Fabianski

Lukasz established himself as Arsenal's No 1 goalkeeper last term before an elbow injury ended his season prematurely.

Few stoppers are as proactive as the Pole: he sweeps up behind his back four, kicks well and has proved himself to be an excellent shot stopper. Indeed, his save against Wigan in the Carling Cup in 2008 is rated one of Arsenal's best ever.

Lukasz has pedigree too. He won the Polish League at Legia in 2006, was voted the best keeper in the ‘Ekstraklasa' two years running and has played international football as well.

His critics will point to a few high-profile errors a few seasons ago but Lukasz appears to have the technical ability to forge a top-flight career. And the more chances he gets, the quicker he will improve.
Lukasz Fabianski is a 'non-homegrown' player in Arsenal's official 2010/11 Premier League squad.

13. Wojciech Szczesny

"I believe one day he will be the No 1 at Arsenal, certainly."

Arsène Wenger's ringing endorsement of Wojciech in 2010 ramped up the hype surrounding Arsenal's young keeper and he lived up to expectations last season.
Following a hugely-successful loan spell at Brentford, the young Pole returned to Emirates Stadium and took his chance with aplomb with an assured Premier League debut at Old Trafford.
An injury to Lukasz Fabianski gave Wojciech an extended run in the first team and he established himself as No 1 by the end of the season - proving his manager right.

His fellow Pole will push him all the way but Wojciech has said he wants to be No 1 "for 15 years" and only a brave man would bet against this latest prediction coming true.
Wojciech Szczesny was under the age of 21 on January 1, 2010 and therefore it was not necessary to name him in Arsenal's official Premier League squad

24. Vito Mannone

Patience is a virtue when you are challenging for the No 1 jersey and Vito was rewarded for his with a lengthy run in the first team during the 2009/10 season.

An outstanding display at Fulham saw the Italian's stock rise rapidly: he saved Arsenal single-handedly at times and produced one incredible double-stop in the first half.
Vito lost his place when Manuel Almunia recovered from injury but he emerged from his eight-game stint a more confident, commanding presence between the posts.

Vito's goalkeeping education has already taken in loan spells at Barnsley and Hull as well as second-string appearances for Arsenal. Now he wants to swap the Championship for the Premier League on a permanent basis.
Vito Mannone is a 'homegrown' player in Arsenal's official 2010/11 Premier League squad.
